Emiliano Sylvester, also known as Emilio Sylv is a twenty-one-year-old photographer, designer and creative from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Rooted in art and craftsmanship, his work moves between photography, fashion and visual design, blending storytelling with raw emotion and identity.
We are proud to introduce him as the sixth guest in our Appreciation Gallery, and one of the early supporters of Zongoville.
Emilio’s work shows how photography, design and fashion are intertwined within the creative world and how each discipline strengthens the other. He brings together his varied experiences to build a cohesive and powerful brand identity.
Background
Emilio grew up in a creative home surrounded by art. His father, a visual artist, introduced him to painting and the patience that comes with handcraft. That early influence shaped his way of seeing detail and composition.
Over time, painting gave way to photography. The camera became another way for him to capture the same emotion he once tried to express on canvas. During his teenage years, he began shaping a personal language that connects stillness, texture and story.
Career
Emilio’s creative path evolved into visual design and direction. His photography bridges fashion, portraiture and atmosphere, with a focus on mood and story rather than product.
He has worked across personal projects and collaborations that explore the boundary between structure and emotion. That same curiosity eventually led him toward a new form of expression , one that combined design, imagery and craftsmanship.
This transition became the foundation for his fashion label, SYLV.
SYLV
In 2024, Emilio founded SYLV, a label that reflects his instinctive and emotional approach to creation. Each piece is built around honesty and process, balancing structure with spontaneity.
The first SYLV drop combined precise tailoring with rough textures, photographed and styled by Emilio himself. Each piece is made in small quantities, shaped by the same eye that defines his photography.
To accompany the first release of SYLV, Emilio created a short movie titled Beholder. The film captures his vision and process, offering a look into how he translates atmosphere and design into motion.
